Who regulates pet insurance?
Your state's insurance department licenses every insurer that sells there, reviews their rate filings, and takes consumer complaints directly. A growing list of states has adopted a pet-insurance-specific law based on the NAIC model act, which standardizes disclosure of waiting periods, pre-existing condition terms, and renewal changes. Each state guide names the regulator and what the state's rules require.
